Weihai fishing tackle expo set for September 2026 return
The 18th edition of the Weihai International Fishing Tackle Expo will return to the Weihai International Trade and Exchange Center from September 19 to 21, 2026, reinforcing the eastern Shandong city’s standing as the principal manufacturing base for China’s angling industry.
Organized by Weihai Aohua Exhibition Co., Ltd., the three-day show will occupy a 60,000 square metre exhibition area and present the full vertical of fishing tackle and related outdoor sporting goods. The scale underscores the event’s position as the largest dedicated B2B gathering for the Chinese tackle sector, drawing OEM and OBM suppliers, component makers, and finished goods exporters serving recreational and commercial anglers worldwide.
Weihai’s grip on the global supply chain shows no sign of loosening. The city has spent more than two decades consolidating its cluster of rod blank producers, reel assemblers, lure manufacturers, hook mills, and tackle accessories workshops, supported by an integrated logistics network that ships directly from Shandong ports to importers across Europe, North America, and emerging Asian markets. The expo serves as the industry’s annual checkpoint, where international buyers converge to place forward orders, audit new suppliers, and benchmark product cycles ahead of the following spring selling season.
For overseas buyers scouting alternative sourcing hubs beyond traditional Jiangsu and Guangdong clusters, the Weihai show offers a concentrated view of northern China’s manufacturing strengths, particularly in carbon rod production, saltwater tackle, and ice fishing gear. Domestic exhibitors also use the platform to debut private label programs and to court distributors targeting the rapidly expanding recreational fishing markets in Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
China’s broader tackle export machine continues to power the event’s relevance. The country remains the world’s dominant producer of fishing equipment, supplying the majority of rods, reels, lines, hooks, and terminal tackle consumed in international markets. Trade fair organizers have spent recent editions professionalizing buyer hosting services, expanding translation support, and tightening IP protection frameworks, moves designed to ease the path for first-time importers and to reassure established accounts that Weihai remains a reliable long-term partner.
With the 2026 edition confirmed and booking activity expected to accelerate in the spring, suppliers across the Shandong cluster are already preparing factory walk-throughs, new product launches, and OEM consultations for what organizers are positioning as a flagship year for the show.
Registration details, exhibitor applications, and buyer hospitality programs are now available through the official expo channels, with international visitors advised to begin travel and visa planning early given the September date and the high volume of overseas delegations that the event typically attracts.
