Jinhua factory scales PE braided line output for global buyers

A Jinhua-based line and reel manufacturer is pushing deeper into the global OEM market with an expanded range of nine-strand PE braided fishing line, offering breaking strengths from 16 to 310lb in 500m and 1000m spool formats. The company, based in Weishan Town within Zhejiang’s established tackle manufacturing cluster, has positioned the new product line as a direct response to rising demand from international distributors seeking high-tenacity braided lines under private label programs.

The nine-strand construction has become a focal point in the supplier’s promotional messaging. Compared with traditional four and eight-strand braids, the tighter weave is engineered to deliver a rounder profile, smoother casting performance and improved abrasion resistance — attributes that have grown in importance as saltwater and heavy-cover applications gain traction in markets across Europe, North America and Southeast Asia. By extending the upper limit to 310lb, the factory is also targeting the catfishing, tuna and offshore jigging segments where super-heavy braided lines have moved from specialty to mainstream status.

Production is anchored in Zhejiang, a province that continues to dominate China’s fishing line and netting output. The region’s dense supplier network gives manufacturers ready access to UHMWPE fibre, precision winding equipment and in-house dye houses, allowing tight control over colour fastness and coating consistency. Spool lengths of 500m and 1000m are offered in standard configurations, with custom winding, packaging and colour runs available for buyers placing full-container orders.

The company’s OEM pitch is straightforward. It manufactures both braided fishing line and spinning reels under its own facilities, allowing overseas brands and trading companies to consolidate sourcing under a single vendor. For distributors managing seasonal inventory across multiple product categories, that vertical integration is increasingly being used as a negotiating point, particularly as freight costs and minimum order quantities remain a concern for smaller importers.

Industry observers note that the competitive landscape for PE braid in China has tightened considerably over the past two years. A wave of new entrants, combined with capacity upgrades among established mills, has put downward pressure on unit prices while raising the bar on quality certification. Buyers are paying closer attention to tensile test data, UV resistance ratings and salt-water performance claims, and many are requiring suppliers to provide batch-level documentation before signing annual supply contracts.

For international tackle brands, the Zhejiang facility’s expanded range offers a practical route into the premium braided line segment without the capital outlay of building dedicated production. With nine-strand construction now available across nearly the full strength spectrum — from light freshwater applications at 16lb through to heavy offshore work at 310lb — the manufacturer is signalling its intent to compete not only on price, but on the technical specifications that increasingly define purchasing decisions in the global braid market.
